Hiked the entire length of the White Chuck Bench Trail, from the west portal. According to iHikeGPS (which I have found to be very accurate), the one-way distance is 7.9 miles, not 6.5.
The trail itself is in good condition, with there being only minor blowdowns from the west portal to Crystal creek, and only one swampy spot that requires navigation. After Crystal Creek, for the next mile to the east portal, there are many medium sized trees over the trail, making travel slower.
Otherwise, the trail is fine. Only problem is that it never gets within reaching distance of the river, and a decent portion of the time you can barely hear it. I guess that’s the price to pay in order to not lose the trail to washouts
