Navaho Pass — Saturday, Jun. 3, 2023

Snoqualmie Region > Salmon La Sac/Teanaway

No snow to the pass. There are some patches of snow on the path to the peak. I tried to count blowdowns, but forgot what I counted, haha. I'm guessing maybe 8-9 but none were difficult to walk over.

The best site is (as I'll get there points out in a prior report) at 6500', but it was occupied. I kept going up in hopes of finding the perfect campsite, but probably just wore myself out in the process. There didn't seem like anywhere good to camp above that spot.

The elevation gain is significant, but is so gradual I almost didn't realize until I was a mile up, huffing and puffing. From the pass to the peak, it's very steep. I couldn't find the motivation to make another attempt and was content to take photos around the pass. The full moon cast a spooky spotlight over the landscape and made the hike back to my camp in the dark a little easier.

The next morning, I discovered a pair of gray reading glasses near an overlook at about 6200'. If you lost glasses here, send me a message or leave a comment.
