Headed out early on a Monday morning about 8 am. This trail has something for everyone! Lots of options for length and varying habitats. I saw about 10 or so people on the trail, most of them with dogs. I saw only 2 or three people during the first hour and the rest towards the end of my hike, so, if you like avoiding crowds, I would recommend going early. I rested for a bit at the end of my hike at the picnic tables near the boat launch while I waited for my husband to finish fishing. The bonus was a trout lunch. This is easily going to be my regular hike as the length is perfect, it is well shaded, offers amenities and is only 30 minutes from home. The lake just adds to the perfection as it allows my husband and I to carpool so that I can hike while he fishes. Highly recommend!
