Stating the obvious, this is steep with lots of loose rock. Helmet is required. There are two options for the summit. You can put on crampons and ice axe and go up the snow, however it gets REAL steep and the run out is not great. My ice axe didn't penatrate the snow well based on snow conditions and I questioned if I would be able to arrest if needed. As with this whole hike, assess your own comfort and skills.
Or you can go left of the snowfield and save yourself the weight of carrying snow gear.
Regardless, you will need to assess your sketch meter with the scramble.
Unfortunately, there were hardly/almost no cairns to follow.
Great views, even if you don't summit. Save some energy for the way down as I think it was harder, and loose rock/sand/gravel had me falling on my butt more than once.
