We drove up to Our beautiful mountain yesterday. The detour we had to take due to the landslide on hwy 99 cougar was rough. I have a car not an suv and the road was rough dodging potholes, and trying to avoid sides of the road that are in dire need of repair.. but once we got to the parking lot for windy ridge/Abraham the walk in was easy and beautiful!!!
I highly recommend you take the left fork once you get down the gravel road as halfway through you have to follow the cairns to the rock slide where you have to literary scale the side of a dirt/rock mountain. It is a little scary but take your time and watch your foot and you will be rewarded with breath taking views.
You might be able to see goats, elk, and chipmunks..
