This trip had some drawbacks but resulted in a decent experience that I would consider returning to in order to explore certain portions further.

We started at 8:50 am and finished around 12:10 pm. The hike could have been shorter; however, we had to stop multiple times to check our directions. There were no actual signs for the 'South Tiger Mountain Loop' since the trail consists of a combination of other trails (Tiger Mountain Trail [TMT], South Tiger Traverse, South Tiger Mountain). The WTA directions are a bit confusing, but after reviewing them post-trip, it's clear they are intended to be followed counter-clockwise. I recommend reviewing/saving the directions, especially in map form, in case the connection points need some guidance.

The South Tiger Traverse section of the hike had a wide dirt trail that wound through the power line fields and up along the mountainside. It was very open due to the lack of trees and was lined with various smaller plants and tree stumps. In contrast, the Tiger Mountain Trail portion of the trail had a narrower path surrounded by lush, green trees and leafy plants.

If we decide to return to this area, we would like to focus on the Tiger Mountain Trail (TMT), which is great for trail running.
