Hiked up Tiffany Mountain via Freezeout, then came down Whistler pass, and then drove to the Tiffany Springs trailhead to hike to the lake.
Larches are nearing their peak! The ones at the summit are at 8000+ ft of elevation, so it's not surprising they are golden, but even the ones by the lake (at 7k) are largely golden as well.
Given the weather and the fact it was a Tuesday, I was expecting solitude, and I was not disappointed: baring the one (hunter?) camped out by Tiffany Springs, I didn't see a single person on either hike.
I did get sleeted on - intermixed with freezing rain - but I had packed my trusty Froggtoggs and kept my torso relatively warm and dry.
One note: my topo map showed two lakes above Tiffany Lake and below Honeymoon Pass, but I was unable to find them, even after hiking up a considerable way from the lake (and I didn't see them from the summit, either). A bit of a mystery!
