Gee Point — Friday, Nov. 17, 2023

North Cascades > Mountain Loop Highway
Trees blocking the road 5.5 miles from the trailhead. Bring your chainsaw.

Access road 1720 is blocked by downed trees 1.7 miles from the junction with Forest Service Road 17 and 5.5 miles from the trailhead. We hiked 11 miles RT to the trailhead but did not proceed onto the Gee Point Trail. There is 6 inches of snow at the TH.

No fishing at Little Gee Lake, 0.3 miles from the trailhead.

Thanks for the report - didn't expect one this late in the season. This has been on my To-Do List for some reason, but I'll wait til summer. Hopefully, it will be cleared by then.

JustTheFacts on Gee Point

A friend tells me that the downed trees have been cleared. On November 26, he drove the road up to at least the 3,100 foot elevation.
