Trip Report

Redmond Watershed Preserve — Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area

Just after 2pm on New Year's Eve, our family of 4 parked in the Main lot which was full.  From there we took the Trillium Trail to the Powerline Trail to The Pipeline Regional Trail to Siler's Mill Trail back to The Pipeline Regional Trail, returning on what we'd come in on. Funny that after 20 years of hiking in The Redmond Watershed, we ended up on a trail we'd never done before! (Siler's Mill Trail.) There's a glacial erratic on that stretch of trail! I've never seen one in the rest of the watershed.

This trail was relatively quiet given the full parking lot. Most people go down to the Mill Pond or do the 2 smaller loop trails by the parking lot as we have in the past. We saw about 10 hikers, 3 runners and 4 bikers.

The forest smelled magnificent as always. Beautiful, complex, peaceful. 4 miles in total. We used the bathrooms which, as always are so well kept and clean.
