Redmond Watershed Preserve — Monday, Jan. 29, 2024

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Beaver Pond

Just a beautiful gift of a spring day in winter so I made the most of it with a visit to the Redmond Watershed Preserve.  This is a great option for folks just getting back out there.  The trails are so well maintained and there was minimal mud and just a couple of puddles on the straightaway of the pipeline trail section.  I even wore my comfy tennies and did not regret it.  I entered from the main south lot with its nicely landscaped parking lot and spiffy restrooms, and made a large loop up the Trillium Trail and back on the Pipeline.  I added in the side trail to see how the beaver dam at "old pond" was holding up and a spin around the Tree Frog ADA loop to check for ducks.  Really enjoyed my 90 minutes or so of forest bathing and the frogs were having a blast too.  Some winter damage could be seen but nothing crazy and the main trails are already cleared.  And along with the spring like warmth I even saw some sun on the way back.

There is a small tree across the paved ADA loop so I noted obstacle for the report in case you are headed that way with a wheel chair etc.

Immaculate trails
Sun on the maples
