WTA and Our Members: The Perfect Combo for Trails

WTA and our members work together like marshmallows and a campfire. Together, we become something even better — a community committed to the future of trails in Washington. Here's what I mean: WTA gets a lot of work done each year to help hikers like you get outside. But we can only do this work because of our dedicated base of 27,000 members who fund our work. Read on to learn about how members make the WTA mission happen.

Members make it happen

WTA is incredibly fortunate to have a dedicated base of individual members who fund our work. And these individuals don’t need to give huge sums of money — over 19,000 donors give $50 or below each year. Often, people think that a donation of $50 won't have much of an impact, but even a gift of just $5 adds up to make it possible for us to create resources for hikers. 

Monthly donors are always there for WTA

You've probably heard this one before: the cost of a bag of trail mix each month can help fund our work. But really, it's true! WTA has monthly members who give anywhere from $5 a month to $250 a month. When you look at what these donations cumulatively accomplish, you'll realize how powerful being a monthly donor can be.

Members are in it for the long haul

Many WTA members know that creating a sustainable trail system takes time, and the best way to support that goal is by giving consistently for many years at a time. Donors who began giving 5 years ago have gotten to see a seeds of ideas blossom into reality, like WTA's Puyallup gear library. Every single one of those donations makes it possible for WTA's vision of trails for everyone, forever to become a reality.
