Whether you're staying inside with pillow-fort tents and microwaved s’mores or driving back from an adventure, bring along one (or all) of these fill-in-the-blank games for guaranteed good times.

Spending time with family can be a wonderful treat. But, there's also a limit to how many times one can rewatch "Frozen" and pretend to lose at Settlers of Catan. If you're nearing the end of your family activity list, we’ve got something new you can try: a hiking-themed fill-in-the-blank word game that will make you laugh and stretch your imagination.

Whether you're staying inside with pillow-fort tents and microwaved s’mores or driving back from an adventure, bring along one (or all) of these fill-in-the-blank games for guaranteed good times.

How it Works

  1. Click onto the images below to download and print a PDF version.
  2. Have one person ask for the missing words, but don’t give away any other details of the story. The parentheses under each blank tells you what type of word you need.
  3. Read your completed story aloud to hear the oddball phrases and goofy scenery you’ve conjured up.

P.S. We think these are pretty great without kids, too. No judgment If you want to give them a whirl with your hiking buds, your Dungeons & Dragons crew or your neo-synthpop bandmates.
