Trip Report Roundup: Hike-a-Thon Adventures All Across the State!
Throughout the month of August, Hike-a-Thon participants enjoyed adventures on trail. Here are some of our favorite trip reports from across the state.
WTA’s 20th annual community fundraiser, Hike-a-Thon, wraps up tomorrow. For the whole month of August, Hike-a-Thoners supported the trails they love by hiking. We invited Hike-a-Thoners to submit trip reports to share their adventures during the month and here are some of the trails they explored!
Abernathy Peak, Scatter Lake - Methow/Sawtooth

Hike-a-Thoner Grinder combined Abernathy Peak and Scatter Lake for a fun day in the Methow area. They noted that you can’t see the summit of Abernathy Peak from the lake, but that you’ll get there following the trail to the opposite side of the lake.
Woodard Bay Conservation Area - Olympia

Hike-a-Thoner SlowGo explored the Woodard Bay Conservation Area on a Thursday afternoon. Chehalis Western Trail is also a great nearby option if you want to see more around the area.
Westport Light Trail - Long Beach Area

Hike-a-Thoner Toddlertrekking enjoyed a foggy and breezy day on the coast at Westport State Park.
Miner's Corner - Seattle-Tacoma Area

Hike-a-Thoner Muddymermaid hiked Miner’s Corner, a 13-acre Snohomish County Park. A dog owner themselves, Muddymermaid shared some details pertinent to hiking with dogs that others might find applicable.
Bird Creek Meadows, Round The Mountain - Mount Adams area

Birding and berries! Hike-a-Thoner Sunrise Creek enjoyed a well-rounded experience outside at Bird Creek Meadows and Round The Mountain.

Hike-a-Thoner Megan Joann Rice stopped by Palouse Falls on a road trip through Eastern Washington. They recommended getting to the trail early or right before dusk to avoid the intensity of the heat.
