Trails for everyone, forever
WTA's free app lets you explore thousands of Washington's trails and their latest trip reports without being tethered to a desktop. It's available for iOS and Android.
With the help of some incredibly generous volunteers, WTA's free app — WTA Trailblazer — is available on iPhones and Android devices. With it, you can explore thousands of Washington's trails and the latest trip reports from your fellow hikers without being tethered to your computer.
For many users, the best part of our app is that you can access the information in it even if you're offline. Simply save a hike to your My Hikes list and you'll have quick, offline access to information to every hike you've saved, including:
Driving directions are ground-truthed by a team of volunteer writers and WTA staff, so often, they're more accurate than a mapping app.
There are thousands of trails in Washington to pick from, so there's something for anyone who is interested in getting outside. Like our Hiking Guide, the app lets you:
In addition to general hiking information, you can also find out what to expect on trail right now, thanks to trip reports and the photos that other hikers share. Dig into the trip reports to find:
We love seeing where people hike, so we hope you'll use the app to post your own trip reports with images, but there's another reason to write trip reports: custom recommendations! WTA's hike recommender is a nifty little tool that takes into account the hikes you've saved and the ones you've written trip reports for to create an endless list of hikes we think you'll like. So the more hikes you save and the more trip reports you write, the better your recommendations.
Of course, we want to hear what you think of the app. Please rate or review it, and if there are other things that you think might improve WTA Trailblazer, we want to hear about it. Email your feedback to iphone@wta.org or androidphone@wta.org.
It's core to our mission to help everyone find the trail they need, whether that's a kid-friendly creek-side ramble, a challenging summit push, or the closest paved path to a park near their house.
By putting the Hiking Guide and trip reports right in your pocket, we're making it easier for you to get familiar with all the types of trails Washington has to offer, hike responsibly and to stay inspired to keep connecting with nature and our public lands.
