Hiking Ruston Way

Ruston Way runs along the Tacoma Waterfront from Jack Hyde Park to Point Defiance Park, passing through Judge Jack Tanner Park along the way. This is a seven-mile round trip walk on a paved trail. It is open to walking, cycling, and running.

Nearby is the Chinese Reconciliation Park and the Fuzhou Ting — a pavilion from Fuzhou, China, one of Tacoma's sister cities. The park is intended to preserve the memory Tacoma's expulsion of its Chinese population in 1885, and as a model of reconciliation for other communities around the world that have experienced similar events.
